Track Your Application

How to Track Your UK ETA Application

After submitting your UK Electronic Travel Authorisation application through our service, you will receive a confirmation email containing your unique application reference number. This reference number is your key to tracking the progress of your application from submission through to a final decision.

We understand that waiting for your application to be processed can be a source of concern, especially when you have upcoming travel plans. Our tracking guidance is designed to help you stay informed about where your application stands in the process and what actions, if any, you may need to take.

What You Need to Track Your Application

To check the status of your UK ETA application, you will need the following information:

  • Application reference number: This unique identifier was sent to you via email after you submitted your application. It typically consists of a combination of letters and numbers
  • Email address: The email address you used when completing your application. This is used to verify your identity when accessing your application status

If you cannot locate your reference number, check your email inbox, spam folder, and junk folder for the confirmation email sent at the time of submission. If you still cannot find it, contact our support team with the email address you used during your application and we will assist you.

Understanding Application Status Types

During the processing of your UK ETA application, you may encounter several different status types. Understanding what each status means will help you know what to expect and whether any action is required on your part:

  • Submitted / Received: Your application has been successfully submitted and received by the processing system. It is queued for review. No action is required from you at this stage
  • Under Review: Your application is actively being reviewed by the relevant authorities. This includes verification of your personal information, travel details, and background checks. Processing times during this phase can vary
  • Additional Information Required: The processing authority has determined that additional information or documentation is needed to continue processing your application. Check your email for specific instructions on what is required and how to provide it
  • Decision Pending: Your application has completed the review process and a decision is being finalised. You should expect to receive notification of the outcome shortly
  • Approved: Your UK ETA has been approved and is electronically linked to your passport. You are authorised to travel to the United Kingdom within the validity period
  • Denied: Your application was not approved. If your application is denied, you will receive information about the reason for the decision and any available next steps

How Often Should You Check?

We recommend checking your application status periodically rather than continuously. Processing takes time and frequent checking will not accelerate the process. A reasonable approach is to check once every few days, or more frequently as your planned travel date approaches.

Additionally, monitor the email address you provided during your application. Important updates, requests for additional information, and decision notifications will be sent to this email address. Ensure that emails from our service are not being filtered into spam or junk folders.

Common Tracking Issues and Solutions

Below are some common issues that applicants encounter when trying to track their applications, along with guidance on how to resolve them:

  • Cannot find reference number: Search your email for the confirmation message. Check spam and junk folders. If still unavailable, contact our support team with your application email address
  • Status has not changed for an extended period: Processing times vary and are determined by UK authorities. Avoid submitting duplicate applications, as this may cause further delays. Contact support if you have concerns
  • Email address entered incorrectly: If you suspect you entered an incorrect email address during your application, contact our support team immediately. We may be able to assist with updating your contact information
  • Received a request for additional information: Respond promptly with the requested details. Delays in providing additional information may extend the overall processing time
  • Application shows as denied: Review any communication about the reason for denial. Depending on the circumstances, you may be able to submit a new application with corrected information

What to Do If Your Travel Date Is Approaching

If your planned travel date is approaching and your application is still being processed, we recommend contacting our support team for guidance. While we cannot expedite processing (as this is handled by UK authorities), we can help you understand the current status and advise on available options.

Do not attempt to travel to the UK without an approved ETA if one is required for your nationality. Airlines and other carriers may deny boarding without valid travel authorisation.
